Will you run for your hero?

From the beautiful Razorback Regional Greenway to the coveted Firefighter Axe Prizes, it’s worth traveling across the country for the Fayetteville Firefighters’ Hero Half Marathon. Anyone can sign up for the race, but the Firefighter Challenge is reserved for Active Duty Firefighters (volunteers – you definitely count, too!). Every year, men and women run 13.1 miles in full bunker gear (including an air pack!). This challenge is a tribute to all those who put their lives in danger to protect their communities every day.

The whole community joins together for the half marathon and surrounding events. Friends and family can join at the starting line as well as access points along the trail. Local business, sponsors, running groups, and non-profits are set up water/cheer stations to provide encouragement along the way. The Finish Line Festival opens at 9:00 am in historical downtown Fayetteville just off Dickson Street. The Fayetteville Fire Department sets up their annual Family Fire Safety Fair with truck rides, bucket lifts, and demonstrations for all ages. Columbus House Brewery opens up their beer garden for finishers and spectators alike.

In 2018, we’re thrilled to announce two new race components: a 15-week training program in partnership with Rise Physical Therapy NWA and a 2-person relay. Visit www.herohalfmarthon.com to learn more!
